BITE BEAUTY Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick - Review + Swatches

I consider my first beauty love to be skincare and my second love to be lipsticks. I will admit, I've had a rocky relationship with lipsticks- with the past couple of years I just stopped wearing them. But this year I've found some great lip products that I've been totally obsessed with.

That being said, within the past couple of years, liquid lipsticks have become really popular. Every brand has come out with their own version of a liquid lip.

Most recently, Bite Beauty has come out with their own as well. A liquid version of their Amuse Bouche (which are also incredibly popular).

I've tried a few of their Amuse Bouche in stick form and I really like them. They're pigmented and incredible creamy. I am happy to report that the liquid version is just as amazing!

Taken from the Sephora website:
Bite Beauty's most nourishing lipstick, Amuse Bouche, gets liquified, while offering rich, high-impact colour and a creamy, comfortable application that glides on with unprecedented precision. [...] made with natural monoi butter and coconut oil, which melts at the temperature of your lips to glide on for ultimate wear and a satiny finish.
Packaging

I find the Bite Beauty packaging to be very unique. Almost every lip product of theirs (minus the lip mask) the outer package is completely grey and matte with rubbery texture. I quite like it because unlike regular plastic materials they're not fingerprint magnets.

The doe foot applicator is worth a mention as well. It's definitely not a cheap applicator like many other brands have. While it's not as wide as some others as well, I find it just perfect. What's nice about this applicator is in the middle, there is a little dip that holds majority of the product. I found I didn't have to re-dip the applicator back in the tube. Whatever was on that one side of the doe foot was more than enough for my entire lips.

Another good thing about the design of the package is the length of the entire liquid lipstick. The stick is shorter so I found application to be easier. With other lip products like Kat Von D or Victoria's Secret, as the stick is so long, the application is a little less precise. I just feel like I don't have as good of a hold on the applicator. My personal preference, not sure if others feel the same way.

Product & Swatches

Bite Beauty products are always super pigmented! They do not play games. Almost every single lip product I've tried of theirs, one swipe offers almost full opacity.

Though I did find that certain shades the pigmentation and creaminess of the product was inconsistent. The brighter shades were better to work with.

While Bite Beauty describes it as a satin finish, I think it's more of a semi-gloss. The more product I applied, the shinier the finish.

Once applied on the lips though, they felt amazing. Super creamy, moisturizing and they don't dry out at all. The scent is exactly the same as any other lip product of theirs. A slight waxy scent, which isn't too overwhelming.

By no means is it long lasting. Bite Beauty doesn't describe it at all as such, so their longevity is equivalent to any other liquid lipstick or regular lipstick. It does smudge and comes off when I eat or drink.

I did also have the Line & Define Lip Primer which I applied before the liquid lipstick. Honestly, I didn't really notice any difference when I wore it with the primer and without. You can get away with wearing the product on its own.

Flambe

Flambe is a lovely red. It's a warmer tone and is a great shade for the summer. I think it would suit those with tanned skin. Of the 3 shades I received, this one I liked the best.

Also worth mentioning, consistency wise, it was the thickest of the 3 shades. I sort of had trouble applying the product within the lip lines.

Eclair

Eclair shade in the tube looks more on the pink/nude side. But on my lips it's definitely a lot lighter. More of a rose pink. As much as I like this shade I do still think it's too light for me. For those with fair skin, this will look great on you!

I found the consistency for this shade to be the best of all 3. Not too thick like Flambe. Really easy to work with. Both shades one side of the doe foot applicator was enough for both my lips! There's definitely a lot of product on the applicator.

Demi-Glace

Darker shades just never look too good on me. Demi-Glace is no different. It actually made me look really tired. On my lips the shade just sort of looks like... chocolate. It looks like I melted some Hersheys kisses and applied it on my lips. That actually sounds pretty delicious. Lick my lips for a little pick me up later in the day...

The consistency was also the thinnest of the 3, very watery. Darker shades seem to never be as opaque. I also found that I had to apply more than one layer for it to be more opaque and look less patchy.

Overall thoughts

While none of the shades are ones that I will wear often, I still really like it. They are literally the liquid version of the Amuse Bouche lipsticks. Creamy, pigmented and super moisturizing. Very comfortable on the lips and not sticky at all whatsoever. I would definitely be interested in checking out other shades.

Personally though, I'm more of a lipstick fan rather than the liquid version. There's now way I could apply these products without a mirror.

Bite Beauty offers such high quality products. Even though not every colour offers the same consistency, they're still definitely worth the price tag of $28 CAD + taxes.

The Liquified Lipsticks are available at Sephora for $28 CAD + taxes.

Are you a fan of Bite Beauty? Do you plan or have you already tried these liquid lipsticks? What do you think of them?
