Miracle 10 - Botanical Oil & Fruit Enzyme Scrub Reviews

Can you believe there's less than a month until Christmas? Where in the world did the year go??

It's been getting a lot colder out I've had to bust out my two humidifiers already. With colder weather comes dry skin.

Similar to last weeks post, I'll be reviewing another facial oil alongside a facial scrub by Miracle 10.

Miracle 10 (also Canadian!) is a cosmeceutical skincare line that was developed by The Plastic Surgery Skincare Clinic. They're located right in Toronto too!

Taken from their website:
Miracle 10 formulations were developed to stimulate and "exercise" the skin with a combination of the highest quality active ingredients available. [...] formulations are proprietary, fragrance-free, paraben-free, not tested on animals, and made in Canada. Proven to reduce and slow the signs of aging, minimize pore size, heal the look of acne, and greatly improve skin elasticity, texture, and tone.
While both products are good, one definitely stood out to me more.

Botanical Oil

Product description from their website:
A light-weight elixir formulated with 12 seed, flower and fruit oil extracts that work to improve hydration while reversing the signs of aging, brightening and clarifying the look of the skin [...] perfect choice for people suffering from chronically dry skin but also for people who experience acne and oily skin conditions

Packaging

The packaging is quite simple. Since it is made of plastic, it does feel rather light. The advantage of plastic is that if you were to drop it it's less likely to crack or break than a glass bottle.

I found the pump to be rather stiff. It sticks every once in a while when I try and dispense the product.

Product

First off, I have to mention that Miracle 10 advertises fragrance-free products, but it's not unscented as I originally thought. This actually has a really strong scent. It just means they haven't added anything additional to hide the original scent. If you've ever used Saje essential oils before, it smells exactly like the stress relief one. In other words, it has a strong earthy scent. I know a lot of people like it, but I'm not a huge fan. While the scent is very strong, it doesn't linger for too long.

It's a nice anti-aging product to have and use, but since I don't have any wrinkles, I can't comment on how effective it is in reversing fine lines. It certainly doesn't hurt to incorporate anti-aging products into my skincare routine now rather than later. I don't have any smile lines or anything, so I must be doing something right.

Miracle 10 does say that this is a non-comedogenic product. Which means that it's formulated to not clog up the pores. It also mentioned that it's supposed to reduce the sizes of pores as well. It doesn't reduce the size, but it definitely isn't too heavy on my skin.

So far, I'm liking this. My skin is more moisturized and looks plump after application. I did find that even the oil is absorbed into my skin, it left a light oily layer on my face. Whenever I touched my face my fingers would be oily. This isn't a big deal as most usually apply a moisturizer on top after. But I tend to apply the oil right after I shower (I tend to shower at night), wonder around until I go to bed and then right before bed I apply my night moisturizer. So just try not to touch your face if you're like me and you don't always apply a cream right after.

Overall thoughts

I like this facial oil. It does the job quite well. There are a few things about it I can't properly review (anti-wrinkle, etc) but it is a good moisturizer. Don't fret if you're oily like myself. Don't apply too much of it on your nose, only use it at night and it's a good moisturizer.

The scent on the other hand is my least favourite thing about the product.

The Botanical Oil is available on Miracle 10 for $82 CAD + tax. The product is 30ml in size.

Enzyme Scrub

Product description from their website:
Natural, thermostable exotic fruit enzymes from Pineapple and Papaya work with soft scrub particles to smooth the texture of your skin and remove impurities. Skin will feel smooth and hydrated, and the appearance of fine lines and dullness will be minimized, giving you a more youthful appearance
Packaging

I like the packaging for this a lot more than the oil. It's a more durable plastic, heavy, and overall feels better. It comes with a plastic cover to protect the scrub as well.

Though I really wish this product came with a spatula. It's a gel like texture so it's a little difficult to scoop out with my fingers unless I really dig in for it. Not very hygienic that way.

Product

I really like how fine the scrub particles are. It's the finest scrub I have used. Basically like really fine sand and because of this, it offers a really light exfoliation. But be warned, unless you wake up really early, don't use this when your'e in a rush. I only use this on the weekends as it's the one time that I have well enough time to properly use this scrub. I am more of the wake up, get ready, get dressed and leave immediately. I don't usually have time to sit and make or even eat breakfast. I know, bad habit. But what can I say, I enjoy my beauty sleep.

It is recommended to gently massage into the skin for 2-3 minutes. Then massage once more with a little toner or solution for another 2-3 minutes. This is definitely a little mini pampering session. Also recommended to use twice a week if you want extra exfoliation.

Since the scrub particles are so fine, it really is gentle and not harsh on the skin. My skin is a lot softer and it's not drying once rinsed off either.

I also like that there isn't really a strong detectable scent. I really have to try and inhale deeply to smell anything (imagine someone smelling wine if you will). No major chemical scent and even though it has fruit enzymes from pineapple and papaya, it doesn't smell like either fruit at all.

I've had a lot of dry skin on my nose lately and they're most apparent after I apply setting powder in the mornings. I usually rely on my Skinfood Black Sugar scrub to exfoliate, but I'm impressed at how well this scrub has removed my dead skin.

Overall thoughts

When I saw how fine the scrub was, I didn't think it was going to do a good job. Especially when I was massaging it onto my skin, it didn't really feel like it was doing anything. But I have to say, it surprised me at how effective it was. It's a gentle scrub that offers a pretty deep exfoliation. Naturally, as it does remove dead skin and any other impurities, my skin did look brighter after use.

As mentioned earlier, definitely something you need time to use during the morning. If you skip any of the steps it won't be as effective. I have also tried using this right before the shower. Massage it into my skin, wait 2-3 minutes and then jump into the shower to rinse.

Overall, the scrub impressed me the most between the two products. And honestly, if you are to try at least one of these products, the scrub is worth trying over the Botanical Oil.

The Enzyme Scrub is available on the Miracle 10 website for $77 CAD + taxes.

The products are on the expensive side but with Christmas just around the corner, you may want to splurge for that special someone. Your mom perhaps? Heck, you deserve some pampering too!
