Laneige Water Bank Serum Review - New Winter Must Have!

*pokes head out from rock* Well hey there....

I know I have been MIA from this blog for many months. I am afraid I lost a bit of motivation and creative juices to continue posting reviews. Not to say that I have stopped with my skincare or makeup purchases, I have continued to explore and try new products.
But good news, I graduated University in April and moved out to start working in May right after. I have been settling into my job quite well and I have begun writing up posts once again. I am hoping to release new content for this blog.

For my new post, I am so happy and lucky to have been chosen by Influenster* to review the Laneige Water Bank Serum!

The serum is not new, but it is newly launched as Sephora! So for all you Laneige enthusiasts in Canada, no need to order online from overseas sellers anymore. Laneige skincare (along with their famed BB cushion) are now available in Sephora stores! Unfortunately, their makeup range has yet to be released. So for the time being, I can only lust after their lipsticks from afar.
I have been eyeing this product for years and have been lusting to try it, but since my attention span is rather fleeting, I always get caught up in another product.
But let us take a further look into this serum...

Taken from the Sephora website:
"Formulated with exclusive biogen technology, hydro ionized mineral water delivers six moisture-maximizing minerals—zinc, magnesium, manganese, potassium, calcium, and sodium—deep within where toned, re-texturized skin begins. The luxurious formula delivers 24-hour hydration, protection, and revitalization for skin that looks supple and silky."
That is a lot of nutrients the serum supposedly provides.

Packaging
The packaging is on point! I absolutely love it. It is in a glass bottle which makes it feel very luxurious. Not to mention, the bottle is blue. And I love the colour blue!
But honestly, the pump is amazing and it does not get stuck. I also like that it has a cap to prevent the serum in the nozzle from drying up. It might just be me, but it feels more sanitary this way.
The only downside is since the bottle is glass, if you were to drop it... goodbye serum.

Scent
The serum has a light and refreshing floral scent. Definitely not as strong as their Water Sleeping Mask. This is one thing I like about Korean/Japanese skincare. Their scents are very much so pleasing to the nose. I have used other brands that just smell of chemicals- that in the end turn me off of the product.
Formula
When I first used this serum it surprised me how... milky and thin it looked and felt. The product felt so thin (well after all, the serum is called "Water bank" Derp), I questioned how hydrating it would really be. But after a few days use, any doubt I had for this serum I threw it out the door. I LOVE this product!
I noticed almost immediately how hydrating it was. Since it has been a lot colder, I have increased the heat at home. Because of that, my skin tends to become really dry very easily.

The great thing, is that the serum is so light but it is so hydrating. Not 24 hours as it advertises, but it does a pretty good job. There have been days where after application, I end up forgetting to put on my day moisturizer because my face just feels so plump and hydrated.

Currently, I have incorporated this serum into my night time routine and I actually mix a couple drops of an anti-wrinkle serum with this.

Overall thoughts
I really really like the Laneige Water Bank Serum.  My face does not feel dry at all which is incredibly important during the colder months. Once I do finish this serum up, I will definitely repurchase and implement this into my winter skincare routine.

If you are curious in trying this out, go to your local Sephora or check it out online! It is available for $46 CAD. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I think it is worth it because the bottle is 60ml. I have been using this product every night and I still have a lot left. You will definitely get your money's worth!

What are your thoughts? Have you tried this serum before? What are some of your favourite Laneige products?

*I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
