Skin79: Repair Amino-Acid Serum Review

Originally, this serum came in a pack of 3. Called The New Turn Therapy Set from Skin79. Which is another Korean skincare company. Yes, I have been going a little nuts with their skincare items. But what can I say, their products are good!

Not to mention, I bought this serum set for the most amazing price!

If you are interested in Skin79, read up about them from the sasa website.

The set recommends using all three interchangeably for the best results. I do not really care for layering the serums, and I also do not want to use too many products on my face.

From the Skin79 website:

Serum that provides nutrition and moisture to make healthy skin. Patented Number 0490212 - Anti-Aging cosmetic ingredient which is Amino-Acid mixture that has same ratio of Amino-Acid of human skin highly concentrated serum that has important components of skin; Amino-Acid mixture, it provides nutrition to dull and tired skin to make healthy beautiful skin

So... that is quite a mouthful to read. Basically, the key ingredient in this serum is Amino-acid, which keeps the skin moisturized.

In the winter, though I still have oily skin, I find that I have patches of dry skin around my face. I gravitate towards more moisturizing products, ones for dry skin, because my skin is a little less oily during the winter.

Packaging:

It is rather plain, and reminds me of the medicinal droppers. This is not a bad thing-as the dropper is great! As you may recall, this was what I did not like about The Body Shop's 'Drops of Youth'. The dropper was terrible! This one of the other hand, not only holds a lot, but the top of the dropper is durable. Also, because it is rubber, it makes gripping the top more easy.
You can see in the photo below, that the dropper sucked up a lot of the product.

Formula:

It is thick in consistency, but it is not sticky. Also it is easily absorbed into the skin, and does not feel heavy either. Since it is thicker than most serums I have used, you need to apply more than the 2-3 drops they recommend. I usually apply 4 drops all over my face. One on the top of my forehead, one on either side of my cheeks, one on my nose and I dab a bit onto my upper lip and chin.
The serum is very moisturizing. It is thick enough to be worn on its own. Some days, when I am lazy and do not plan on leaving the house, I leave it as is, and I do not apply any moisturizer. My face will not become dry for most of the day.

Since it is thicker, I used it up more quickly. My Drops of Youth took me about 3-4 months to use up. I have already finished this bottle and it took me about 2-3 months to finish. I am already half way through my other bottle of serum. I end up using these up more quickly, because I use the same serum morning and night. I am in the process of looking for a serum just for the morning, but for now, I am using this twice a day.

As for the scent, it is very faint. I honestly don't even notice it anymore.

Final thoughts:

I really like this serum. It is incredibly moisturizing, and it comes in a set of 3. I definitely plan on repurchasing this for winter.
Did I mention how great the price was? I purchased the set of 3 for only $21! It is usually sold for $41! Such a great deal. I bought this from a seller on ebay. Though when I went back to purchase another set, they for some ridiculous reason, are now selling it for over $100! Talk about crazy price increase! Sure, the seller realized they could sell it for more, but $100 is just too much.
You can probably buy this set for $34+ on ebay.

I approve of this serum. Give it a try!

What serum do you use?

  1. I didn't know Skin79 was having serums, too XD I only knew their BB creams , haha. But it sounds really nice. At the moment I'm using OST Vitamin C serum and this is really the most amazing product I've used. Everytime I start using it I feel how my skin recovers.

    1. A few years back, when I was searching for BB creams, Skin79 BB's were the top google searches. It's good that the brand has expanded though!
I haven't heard of or tried OST before, but now I am quite curious! I'll have to check it out!
